Incorrect Input Types Using DijitFormHelper

Reported by Sean Templeton | May 9th, 2011 @ 11:17 PM | in DojoCake 1.3.2

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Use $dijitForm->input() on a field that would normally produce something other than a textbox, like a select field or checkbox.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The expected output would be something like an input tag with a dojoType of ComboBox, instead we get anything from checkboxes to regular textboxes.

The problem resides in the logic used to determine the input type based on a field. As of right now, there is no known way of hooking into the built-in form helpers input function.

To Fix

To fix this, manually select the input types and provide the data. This is a temporary fix until a viable solution is found.

Dojo Cake is a library of CakePHP helpers and controllers to make the process of adding Dojo to CakePHP more easy. The library includes helpers for widgets and XHR connections.
Dojo Cake was developed to make the process of making ajax applications in CakePHP as easy as making the application itself, making Web 2.0 applications in CakePHP a piece of cake (pun intended). With a growing number of widgets, and support for basic ajax and xhr connections, Dojo Cake aims to be a powerful link between clientside programming and server-side programming.
The project is hosted on google code at http://dojocake.googlecode.com
